Verity Credit Union Classic
presented by Ascent Cycles
We’re proud to have Verity Credit Union’s support for the 23rd running of the criterium in Ballard. This year we’ve also joined forces with a new bike shop in Ballard, Ascent Cycles.
One of Seattle’s classic bike races with a great city course, lots of fans and a fantastic atmosphere. Just like the original crits in Belgium, the keystone pro event kicks in the evening with fans spilling out of the local bars and restaurants to watch and cheer.

Verity has been part of the Seattle credit union movement since 1933 and we are incredibly excited to be part of the Ballard community. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we are all about people helping people. Money is reinvested back to members in the form of higher rates on deposit accounts, lower rates on loans, lower fees and even fee reimbursements. Verity offers a wide array of products and services to suit your needs, including bicycle loans, rewards checking accounts, auto loans, mortgages, youth accounts, financial coaching, business accounts, Mobile Deposit and more. We even offer investment services through our partner CUSO Financial Services. And as part of the national Shared Branching network, you can access your accounts in person for free at thousands of ATMs and credit union branches across the country. Visit veritycu.com to learn more and join.
Ascent Cycles is a dedicated bicycle shop brought to you by the same team that has been serving the Seattle cycling community for twenty years under the Second Ascent banner. We outgrew our old storefront at Second Ascent, and are excited to have moved into our own space. We come together as bicycle riders, racers, mechanics, and aficionados of the wonderful experiences we’ve had on a bike.
A great bike shop should be both a gateway to, and an extension of, the good times we’ve had in the saddle. Our beautiful new home on Ballard Avenue represents the beating heart of our growing community of customers.
This year’s race will also feature a Beer Garden along the course with a great finish-line view. With generous donations from Peddler Brewing Company and Locust Cider, all proceeds will benefit the Ballard Food Bank.
Race organized and promoted by Apex Racing, with volunteering support from Spokeswomen Racing.
