Aye! My first blog post! Please don’t judge me
.
This last Saturday we decided to show our new Apexers the famous Rocket Ride route. Along the way we decided to throw in some double paceline work. It wasn’t pretty, but neither is clay before you shape it. The new guys show a lot of potential and dedication and with a little practice they will nail down this skill.
I remember racing in the 5′s last year and we would get in breaks. Very few of the 5′s knew what a double paceline was and i’ll admit it was extremely difficult to get the break organized and in good flow. Fortunately a handful of us knew what we were doing and in the end the group usually narrowed down to the people who already mastered this skill. It is a vital one to know!
Though our paceline work this past Saturday was rough, it was a step in the right direction. Come racing season they will know exactly what to do. I look forward to watching them progress into cycling adults

It may look bad now, but just you wait!

P.S. To embarrass him; Spears dropped his chain. Not once, but TWICE! Newb??
Ouch J. Yep, double chain drop. I think we need a chain guard manufacturer for a sponsor…
I still don’t think you’ve beat Chad for chain droppage. He’s the king at the moment. I believe he dropped his 3 or even 4 times a few rides back.
