Erik Brihagen

From the bike I first loved, a Schwinn Lemon Peeler (bright lemon-yellow, full suspension, banana-seat, high-rise bars, rear disc and front drum brakes in 1971!) to my ‘09 Cervelo R3SL, I have always loved the bike. I can pedal so hard that my heartbeat could set pilings and my lungs might suck the oxygen from stone. Still, I’m just an amateur dude who loves burritos and cold beer. But at 52 (for the racing year of 2012), my real goal is to help others on the team achieve their goals while stomping at least 80% of the guys 40 and under. Yep, if I can dole out some misery AND show off my grey locks… perfect! But I won’t feel too awfully bad standing on that podium with a full Apex sweep! My greatest love in cycling, however, is going uphill. I may not be the fastest, but I’ll kick my ass trying! Oh ya, I like to par-tay!
