With Trek Bicycle in my hometown I basically grew up with bikes my entire life.  However, the only time I rode them was when I would visit my grandparents about 500 feet down the road and to go fishing near the local river.

I did sports my entire life.  As kid I competed in the local pedal powered tractor pulls and in high school I ran cross country and track.  It wasn’t until I was 24 that the glory of the bike attracted me.  I was hanging out with some high schools friends in Sun Prairie, WI.  They were big time commuters and we wanted to meet up with some other friends in Madison.  Naturally I assumed we would hop in our cars.  WRONG!  They gave me a bike and we pedaled.  I was never as tired in my life…but I held onto their wheels (though I think they slowed for me).  At that point I was hooked.  I got myself a hybrid bike and started commuting.  A year later I upgraded to a road bike and wanted to get into the racing scene.  The rest is history.
